Using the Web Console

Spell's web console makes it easy to track your runs, workspaces, resources, and to manage your account.

Logging In

You can log into Spell's web console with the same username and password that you use to log into the Command Line Interface (CLI) tool. The link to log in is on the upper right side of the Spell homepage.

First Login

The first time you log in, you'll be taken through a getting started wizard that will prompt you for your credit card information to unlock GPUs. If you do not want to enter a credit card, you can select skip. If you'd like to unlock GPUs later, you can always do that by adding a credit card under the Settings > Billing tab.

Runs Page

Once you log in, you will be taken to your runs page. The runs page lists all your completed, killed, and active runs. The page automatically refreshes, so you can see the status of your runs in real time. The first time you log in, the runs page will be empty.

For ideas on what to do for your first run, check out learn.spell.run. Once you start running runs, you'll see a list of all your runs and the status of those runs on your runs page.

To the left of your page is the navigation bar. Here you will find links to your runs page, your resources page, and, if you're on an organization's account, links to your hyperparameter visualizations page, model servers page, and cluster management page.

On the bottom left of the sidebar are links for your settings page where you can view and update your email, password, notifications, and billing information. There are also links to our documentation and help request system.

Finally, at the very bottom of the sidebar is a link to refer your friends. When you refer your friends to Spell using your referral link, you'll both earn $15 in GPU credit.

Resources Page

The resources page lists all datasets, models, or any other files that can be made available to a run. On your resources page, you should see:

  • public: public datasets and resources uploaded by Spell. You can mount these to your runs using the --mount public/<dataset_name> flag.
  • runs: a list of all your runs that have outputs. If you click on a run id, it will show you what resources are available and can be mounted to another run. To use these resources, use the --mount runs/<run_id>/<path_to_resource> flag.
  • uploads: all resources uploaded via the spell upload command.
  • links: all links to resources that you have created using the spell link command.

When navigating the resources on this page - and only if you have configured model serving for your account - you can create model servers from a given resource. When viewing a resource that is a servable model simply click the button on the right of the row for that resource in the table. This will pop up the model server creation form with a variety of options including the type of model to serve. Spell will attempt to auto-detect the model type based on the file structure and extensions of the selected resource, and display that detected type in the form. If the Model Type field is not auto-populated, it's likely that no servable model is hosted at the resource path and you should try a different resource.

Access your settings page via the Settings link in the middle of your sidebar. This will take you to your main account page where you can change your email, password, and display name.

Billing Page

On your billing page you can view details of your current plan such as the machine types available and the total hours of runs you've used in the current billing period. You can also see if you have GPU credits left.

You can also update your credit card and billing information and add promotional codes.
